The newly released CL2 disc is heavier than previous discs weighing in at 125kg a metre, which will achieve a more aggressive cultivation. Digging in at 8-10cm deep, these heavy duty discs can dig out and kill the toughest of weeds such as flea bane and barnyard grass effectively. This heavier disc incorporates stubble, and is suitable for levelling of rough paddocks and wheel tracks.
The standard CL1 cast disc is the most versatile, weighing in at 70kg a metre making it great for incorporating stubble, getting a light weed kill, levelling out wheel tracks and preparing a perfect seed bed.
A lighter option again is the tradition prickle chain, which is suitable for a light tickle up and knocking down stubble, as well as breaking up dirt clods. They are suitable to use directly after planting and are often used after planting chickpeas and faba beans to fill in seed trenches, as well as levelling off paddocks for spraying and an easier harvest operation.
